1/24/2010David returns to WHAS Crusade for Children
David Garrard will be part of the 2010 WHAS Crusade for Children telethon set for Saturday and Sunday, June 5-6. David will perform in the Bomhard Theater as part of a full evening of variety entertainment that kicks off the annual fundraiser. The show will be telecast live (locally) on WHAS channel 11. David will also perform live in the WHAS studios after midnight with host, Steve Kirkland.

David kicks off Louisville Success!
The Magic of David Garrard kicked off Louisville Success, an inspirational program held at the beautiful Louisville Palace on Friday, January 8. The program featured jockey, Pat Day, former Southeast Christian pastor, Bob Russell and U of L basketball legend, Denny Crum among others. David opened the evening with his White Star/Snowstorm trick (see video Gallery, Upward) and then produced WHAS radio personality and emcee, Terry Meiners.
Bob Russell had this to say: "Your two tricks were excellent, and got the program off to a joyous beginning!"

Glorieta Family Camps will feature David Garrard
Glorieta New Mexico's 2010 Summer Family Camps will include The Magic of David Garrard! David will perform on Friday evening, July 9 and Friday evening, July 16. His performances will conclude the week long camps designed for families.

Young Farmer Leadership Conference to feature the Magic of David Garrard
Kentucky Farm Bureau's annual Young Farmer Leadership Conference will include two performances by magician, David Garrard when it meets in Louisville January 29-30, 2010. David will present a program for children on Saturday morning. Then, on Saturday evening, David will be featured entertainment following a dinner and auction. The conference will be held at Louisville Marriot East.

Carson-Newman hosts the Magic of David Garrard
Carson-Newman college hosted the Magic of David Garrard for it's 2009 Family Day Brunch. David performed for students and their families as part of a full day of on-campus activities. Dean of Students, Shelley Ball had this to say: "David's show was perfect for our audience! He captivated our folks and left them awestruck! We highly recommend him to others looking for family-friendly entertainment!"

David dazzles at Daytona!
The Magic of David Garrard was one of the highlights of the 2009 Daytona Festival of Magic, held November 6-7 at the Daytona Resort and Conference Center in beautiful Daytona Beach, FL. Convention organizer, Harry Allen said, "We were very happy to have you! Your show fit the puzzle perfectly. The professionalism you have makes my job easier and makes me look good! Thanks!"
David closed the Friday evening Cabaret Show held in the hotel. The performance included David's unique Snowman Suspension, Candle in the Wind (a beautiful tribute to Marilyn Monroe) and the seldom seen Battle of the Barrels. Check the Gallery for photos of David at Daytona.

Creative Ministry Festival will feature David Garrard
David Garrard will be one of two featured artists when the Kentucky Baptist Convention presents it's annual Creative Ministries Festival, March 5-6, 2010. David will showcase on Friday evening and also teach several workshops throughout the festival.

Benefit raises more than $10,000!
The 2009 Christmas Connection Concert, a partnership venture between St. Matthews Baptist Church and Jefferson Street Chapel that benefits inner city children and families, raised over $10,000. The annual concert was held September 27, and featured the Magic of David Garrard. David partnered with the Black Music Ensemble of Berea College. David has been participating in this ministry event since it's inception in 1994-- a concert that paired him with award-winning vocalist, Larnelle Harris.

David performs with full orchestra!
David Garrard was featured guest when the Southern Seminary Orchestra presented it's annual Summerfest Pops Concert on Tuesday evening, September 1. David achieved a life-long dream of performing with a live orchestra when he took the stage for three numbers, including John Williams's Flying theme from ET. David Garrard returns to Crusade telecast
The Magic of David Garrard will once again be part of the WHAS Crusade for Children telecast. The 2009 show will be held on June 6 at the Bomhard Theater in downtown Louisville. The program will begin at 8:00 p.m. and will be carried live on WHAS TV 11. David will perform at approximately 9:00 p.m. After midnight, David will be live in the studio with Crusade hosts, Steve Kirkland and Gene Kang.

David to appear at Upward National Training events
The Magic of David Garrard will be featured at two of Upward Unlimited's 2009 National Training Events. David will be performing in Spartanburg, South Carolina on May 2 and in Columbus, Ohio on June 27.
David has been partnering with Upward since it's beginnings back in 1996, and has provided entertainment for hundreds of Award Night programs throughout the United States. David will speak, perform for FCA Superstars!
David Garrard will be the special guest when the Louisville FCA holds it's annual Superstars competition, Friday, May 1 at Fern Creek High School. The event offers boys and girls ages 8-11 the opportunity to compete in a variety of sports activities. David will speak and perform for the group around 11:00 a.m.

Thunder Over Louisville!
On April 21, 2007, David's magic ignited Thunder Over Louisville, the largest fireworks show in North America, and the official kick off for the Kentucky Derby Festival! David's made-for-tv spot can be viewed on video in the Gallery section of this website. An estimated 800,000 people attended Thunder.

David on ESPN 2!
David Garrard appeared on The Deuce! (ESPN 2) in October of 2008 when NFL Films presented a special program about David and his namesake, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback, David Garrard-- the "other" David Garrard! The two David's met in Jacksonville in March. David Garrard Squared featured interviews and a segment from David's show at East Pointe Church in which the other DG helped with a trick. David on KET!
David Garrard was part of a special documentary on magic in Louisville produced by Kentucky Educational Television. The show featured Mac King, and was shot in part during the combined Society of American Magicians and International Brotherhood of Magicians convention held in Louisville this summer.

David Garrard presented 35 shows over 11 days during the 2008 Kentucky State Fair, August 14-24. Performances were held on the Family Stage in the beautiful South Wing of the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center. (See photo gallery.)

David performs for WHAS Crusade for Children!
On Saturday evening, June 7, David Garrard performed as part of the 55th Annual WHAS Crusade for Children. David's performance was telecast live from the Bomhard Theater in downtown Louisville. David presented Beauty & the Barrels, the classic torn and restored newspaper trick and his romantic skit, The Lady and the Magician. David was assisted by Meredith Basham and Alicia Kotheimer.

David Garrard performs with Mac King at international magic convention
David Garrard was part of the opening show when the two largest magic organizations in the world held a combined convention in Louisville, Kentucky in 2008. The International Brotherhood of Magicians and the Society of American Magicians met in Louisville July 21-28. David appeared on the show with his friends, Las Vegas superstar and comedy magician of the year, Mac King and juggler/physical comedy artist, Marty Pollio. The wonderful Russian magician, Voronin rounded out the bill. Convention shows were held at the Kentucky Center for the Arts. (See photo gallery.)
